Trans-Pacific Accounting and Business Consulting LLC is a firm of forward-thinking accountants based in Bellevue, Washington, home to the Pacific Northwest region, that specializes in providing accounting, business consulting, and tax services for small businesses.  We work with a range of clients from sole traders and international entrepreneurs to partnerships and corporations.

As small business owners ourselves, we understand the pressure of running your own business, so we work as an effective business partner taking away the worries of your accounting, bookkeeping, and tax compliance.  We work with you to plan your business and tax strategy to make sure you only pay what is necessary.

Trans-Pacific is a licensed CPA firm in Washington State and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants, Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, and the Greater Seattle Chinese Chamber of Commerce.

Rick Kai Lam Choi, CPA, Founder and Principal

Rick founded
Trans-Pacific in 2015 with the commitment to offer more and better personalized services for communities and clients.  He has a wealth of experience, advising on all aspects of accounting, taxation, and business consulting and developing but with a strong assurance bias.  His client base encompasses multi-national corporations who need trans-border accounting and taxation advice, newly-minted entrepreneurs forming their first businesses, individuals who just need someone on speed-dial to ask a few simple questions, and local mom-and-pop shops.

Rick acquired his business degree from the
University of Washington Foster School of Business in 2005 with concentrations in Accounting and Management Information System and a minor in Music.  He worked with various CPA firms and clients before founding Trans-Pacific.  He is a certified public accountant licensed with the Washington State Board of Accountancy and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants.  He is also pursing Master of Science in Taxation at Golden Gate University.

Rick is also the president of The Greater Seattle Chinese Chamber of Commerce, a local non-profit organization that helps support and connect local businesses since 1963.

When Rick is not working, volunteering at the Chamber, and studying for his classes in taxes, he probably is traveling or is planning for his next adventure.  He LOVES travel!

Albert Kwok, Tax Senior

Albert is specialized in US tax compliance and tax planning. He analyzes outbound and inbound transactions to identify US tax implications for clients.  He also assists clients in understanding tax consequences of various business and investing activities in the US.  He is experienced in various industries such as Investment management, real estate, and technology.  His client base includes startup companies, high net worth individuals, expatriates, etc.
 
Albert received his business degree with a concentration in Accounting from the University of Washington Foster School of Business in 2011.  He received his Master’s in Taxation from Golden Gate University in 2014. He worked in various "Big 4" accounting firms in New York City and Hong Kong before joining Trans-Pacific. He specializes in US international tax, and he has multiple years of experience in serving cross-border clients.
 
In his free time, Albert likes to play beach volleyball, cycling, and playing chess.

VanNess Hua, CSIA,  Senior Accountant

​​VanNess joins Trans-Pacific with over a decade of experience in tax and finance.  Renowned​ for his expertise in tax planning, financial reporting, assurance support, and management consulting, he excels at transforming complex financial data into clear, actionable insights that drive business success.  His client portfolio ranges from multi-national corporations to various small local businesses including multi-state individuals/corporations, closely held corporations, limited liability companies, and partnerships.  This breadth of experience reflects his versatility and dedication to providing personalized advisory services.​

VanNess earned his degree in Taxation and Finance from National Taipei University Business School. His professional journey includes significant management and consulting roles at prestigious firms like PwC and KPMG, where he developed expertise in GAAP and IFRS compliance​ as well as proficiency in various accounting software, including SAP, Xero, and QuickBooks.

Outside of the numbers
As a member of the Finance Committee for the Greater Seattle Chinese Chamber of Commerce (GSCCC), VanNess is committed to continuous learning and community engagement.  He believes in the power of collaboration to drive growth and is eager to contribute to the firm’s mission of delivering exceptional accounting services.

Gigih Satya, Accountant

Gigih is a dedicated and dynamic accountant at Trans-Pacific, where he brings his enthusiasm to our accounting team.  He earned his Bachelor’s degree in International Business from North Seattle College in 2021 and joined us in 2022.  With a focus on small to medium-sized business clients, Gigih provides expert assistance in QuickBooks, payroll management, payroll taxes, and local business tax compliance.  His hands-on approach and attention to detail help clients navigate the complexities of financial management, allowing them to focus on growing their businesses.

Currently, he is enhancing his expertise with his recent Master’s degree from Northwest University, demonstrating his commitment to staying at the forefront of industry trends.  His enthusiasm for accounting and genuine interest in helping clients succeed make him a valuable asset to our team.
